There have been some very talented children's and young adults authors but these are some of my favourites from past and present.

Roald Dahl - a true genius. You cannot fail to love his books. My favourite as a child was George's Marvellous Medicine. It's about a small boy who decides to cure on his old moany grandma of her mean and selfishness by making a marvellous medicine. The ingredient were pretty much everything he could get his hands on, including horse radish, hair remover, shoes polish and many more disgusting items.

C.S Lewis who wrote the classic childrens fantasy novel The Chronicles of Narnia.

J.K Rowling who wrote the brilliant Harry Potter stories.

Judy Blume who helped me get through my teenage years with great stories like "Are you there God it's me Margaret" Otherwise known as Sheila the Great" and "Blubber".

Francesca Simon - Who wrote the Horrid Henry books. A favourite with my own children.

Jaqueline Wilson - Probably best known for creating Tracey Beaker, but has also written loads of other books which deal with children's issues.

Lemony Snicket - the legal pen name of American novelist Daniel Handler Lemony Snicket is the author of several children's books, serving as the narrator of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
